Space Matters is a design studio based in Athens, working across architecture, interiors, and spatial research.

Founded by Maria Paraskevopoulou, the studio embraces a contemporary design approach that rejects pre-set formulas. We experiment freely with materials and construction techniques, allowing every project to develop its own distinct identity.

We explore the relationship between materiality, proportion, and atmosphere, translating conceptual thinking into crafted built environments. Our work spans workplaces, private residences, hospitality projects, and cultural spaces—each approached with clarity, precision, and a focus on human experience.

We operate across multiple scales and typologies, from intimate residential interiors to complex commercial and hospitality developments. Regardless of the brief, we begin each project from a blank slate—using design as a research tool and treating constraints as opportunities for invention.
